Rookie of the Year

This fall, Sydney joined Marshall and Sterling on the pitch as a soccer referee. Being a referee is a natural fit, a great way to earn money and allows her to give back to the game that she loves. 

On Saturday evening, Sydney was honored by Heartland Soccer as being a referee Rookie of the Year. The gala and award ceremony was held at the Prariefire Musuem.  She had a great time getting dressed up and receiving her award. We are very proud of Sydney's dedication to her job and her continued love of the game.

Marshall had his first high school hat-trick this evening. 

His three goals came off of corner opportunities. The last goal was an incredible header.  Awesome!

One Step Closer

Another exciting adventure lies ahead for Sydney this year. In early spring, we were notified that Sydney was selected to join the FCKC Development Academy. 

The U.S. Soccer Development Academy (DA) is an American soccer league, considered the top tier of youth soccer in the United States.

Presidents Cup Regionals

Marshall was one of several referees selected to represent KS at the Presidents Cup Regional Tournament. 

Marshall has been a referee for 3 years. He has worked numerous league games,tournaments,adult league matches, and etc. 

Yesterday, he was assigned to center a match at Regionals. We all braved the heat and had a great time watching him ref. 

Minnesota Tournament

Sydney traveled to Minnesota last weekend for a soccer tournament. She had a hat trick on Saturday morning and another hat trick in the Championship Sunday afternoon. 

Shauna,Sydney,and Moriah had a great girls' weekend in Minneapolis. The spring soccer season is coming to an end. A few more games and a couple more medals left to win. 

Next year promises to be a brand new adventure. A BIG annoucement is coming soon.

ODP Memphis Weekend

This weekend we headed to the Olympic Development Program's Interregional Showcase in Memphis.  Sydney was representing the Kansas 04 girls. 

On Saturday, Kansas played against the ODP team from Tennessee.  Sydney played every minute of the game!!

Sunday morning, Sydney was selected with two teammates to represent Kansas in the 04 Pool Game. The best of the best from nine states came together to play soccer at an incredibly high level. In the second half Sydney slid into goal, taking the ball with her, to even the score 1-1. 

Also on Sunday, the Kansas 04 ODP team played the Arkansas 04 ODP team. Sydney had a hockey assist and battled hard at every turn.

Monday, she played her last game against ODP 04 Illinois. She had made friends with several Illinois players on Sunday. It was so fun to see her interact with them. 

What a weekend for our girl who has big dreams and works SO hard!!!

Christmas

First JV Game

Marshall had his first JV game tonight. He had 10pts and 4 assists. He was 2-2 from 3pt land. Great game and super start to the season. 

Indianapolis Tournament

Last weekend Sydney traveled to Indianapolis for a soccer tournament. Her team was crowned u13 Champions. 

Sydney had two goals and two assists on Saturday. In the Championship game on Sunday, Sydney scored two goals and led her team to a 3-0 victory. 

First Varisty Goal

Marshall played 24 minutes in the 2nd half tonight and then 20 minutes in extra time. He had his first varsity goal (equalizer to bring the game level) and then his first varsity yellow card. 

Soccer

Marshall had two goals in the JV game tonight and then got to play 20 minutes in the Varsity game. Hard work is starting to pay off.

Today Moriah started second grade and Sydney started seventh grade. 

Pompano Beach

It's hard to beat a week on the beach. 

Biloxi and New Orleans

Wonderful couple of days in Biloxi. Kids enjoyed New Orleans and want to go back. 

Kindergarten Graduation

Graduation from Kindergarten. 

JV meet at BV High

Marshall had a personal best of 5'3" in the high jump today. He also ran a great lap in his 400m relay. Work to be done but he Is a off to a super start. 

Freshman Track Meet

Last Friday, Marshall had his first track meet of the season. He got 2nd in the high jump. He also placed 2nd in the 800m. Off to a great start.

A tennis ball is clearly not a basketball. Marshall is working on dunking and should be able to throw it down by the end of summer.
